Authorisation of SANDF Deployment to Combat Organised Crime
President Cyril Ramaphosa authorised the deployment of 2,200 members of the South African National Defence Force to work with the South African Police Service under Operation Prosper. The deployment, which runs from March 2026 to March 2027, targets illegal mining and gangsterism in the Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, North West, and Western Cape.

The Water Security and Anti-Corruption Forum (WSAC) in South Africa is a strategic intervention aimed at developing tailored solutions to address corruption risks in the water sector. The forum, based on Pillar Six of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy, aims to reduce corruption and unethical behaviour in vulnerable sectors. It aligns with Priority Three of the G20 Anti-Corruption Working Group and focuses on investigation, prevention, and enforcement to safeguard South Africa's water resources, essential for sustainable development.
